Rio Marimbus and Rio Roncador

Marimbus is also known as the Mini Pantanal of the Chapada Diamantina and a trip through this region will show you the great natural diversity of the Parque da Chapada Diamantina as well as giving you a taste of the local culture and traditions.
The trip starts about 22 km from Lençóis, in the community of Quilombola de Remanso, recognised as a cultural heritage point by the Ministério da Cultura (Ministry of Culture) and which was founded in the 1920’s. The tour starts by crossing the Rio Marimbus, Área de Proteção Ambiental (APA) , a route of 8 km by boat with a rower. At the end of the crossing you start a short walk to the old Fazenda do Roncador until you arrive at the famous pools of the Rio Roncador where you can swim and relax in the natural pools with a hydromassage. To complete the trip you will be served a delicious lunch and have a chance for a rest before returning to Lençóis along the same route by which you came.
