The Chapada Diamantina has many things to do within nature, both within the Parque Nacional da Chapada Diamantina as well as the areas around it. From Lençóis it is possible to make a whole array of interesting and beautiful trips in the Chapada Diamantina, including treks, climbs and visits to caves.
Amongst the trips which can be taken from Lençóis, you can go to Marimbus, Serra das Paridas, the Cachoeira da Fumaça por baixo, the Cachoeira dos Mosquitos and a trip down the river rio Mucugezinho.
If you can only make a short trip to the Chapada Diamantina, and are planning on staying in Lençóis – where there is an excellent choice of hotels and pousadas, we recommend that you do the following for you to get the most out of your trip: Explore the caves of Torrinha and Pratinha, with their wonderfully crystal clear waters, climb the Morro do Pai Inácio to see the sunset, and hike from Lençóis to the Vale do Capão. This will take two days.
After a long day of climbing mountains, swimming and diving, and exploring caves, you still have the evening to get to know the centre of Lençóis, and wander down the Rua das Pedras, with its shops and restaurants. In addition to its strong link to nature, Lençóis also has a rich history with mansions and other places such as the Mercado Cultural in the Praça Aureliano Sá to help you realy get a feel for the place.
