About Lençóis

Commonly known as the ‘Gateway to the Parque Nacional da Chapada Diamantina’, Lençóis is found about 400 km from Salvador and has a population of about 10,000. Bringing a unique history, good infrastructure and a picturesque town centre, the main town of the Chapada Diamantina, is a must for anyone who is looking for adventure.
Lençóis was the ‘Diamond Capital’ in the 19th and 20th centuries. From the 1980’s, however, it’s vocation became tourism, and today it boasts the best infrastructure to serve tourists from both within Brazil and from the whole world, who visit the Chapada da Diamantina the whole year round.
